- What is the difference between the 1-Year Accelerated Track and the 2-Year Traditional
Track of the MSMS degree?
The primary differences between the 1-Year Accelerated Track and the 2-Year Traditional Track are the academic and MCAT requirements. Applicants to the 1-Year Accelerated Track must have a preferred GPA of 3.6, BCPM of 3.5 and an MCAT score of 497. Applicants to the 2-Year Traditional Track must have a preferred GPA of 3.2, BCPM of 3.0 and an MCAT score of 492. The final decision for track selection for MSMS applicants will be made by the program and based upon these criteria.
- What is the MCAT score expiration for application to the MSMS degree?
Your MCAT score should be no older than 3 years from your matriculation date into the MSMS program. If you do not plan on retaking the MCAT while in the MSMS program, keep in mind the age of your score and its expiration time as you prepare to apply to medical school.
- Are there scholarships available for accepted students?
A number of merit-based partial scholarships are available each year.
- I have not taken the MCAT exam. What is the latest administration date for the exam
that I should consider for application to the program?
If you have not taken the MCAT, the latest administration of the exam considered should be no later than March.
- Do you accept the GRE as an application test option?
No.
- If I am a current applicant to the MSM MD program, can I use my AMCAS application
to apply to the MSMS program?
If you are a current applicant to AMCAS and have listed MSM as one of your selected medical schools, you may use the AMCAS application as a submission of your grades and letters of recommendation. An application to the MSMS program is still necessary and you should indicate your current MD application status on the master’s program application.
- Are MSMS students guaranteed a seat in MSM’s MD class?
Matriculation into the MSMS program and completion of the degree are not guarantees for admission to MSM’s MD program.
-
What is the class size for the Accelerated Track? Traditional Track?
The current class size accepted for the Accelerated Track is 8-10 students and 30 students for the Traditional Track.
- When does the admissions committee begin reviewing applications?
Once the application cycle opens, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
