榴莲视频 recognizes the following legal holidays to be observed by the closing of all departments and offices except where services are essential for school operations.

During the last few years, MSM provided one (1) floating holiday in lieu of New Year鈥檚 Eve. Employees have one (1) floating holiday available to use in lieu of New Year鈥檚 Eve through the end of 2023, with management approval.   

  • Except for unusual circumstances, employees should give their supervisor at least two (2) weeks prior notice of their desire to use their floating holiday.  Employees must have approval from their supervisor before taking the floating holiday. In certain settings (e.g., Clinical, Public Safety, etc.) more time may be required. 
  • Floating Holiday requests should not be denied to employees unless it creates an undue hardship for the department and/or institution.
  • Employees must enter the time in Kronos using the 鈥渇loating holiday鈥 code (Floating Holiday FLTH). 
  • Exempt (salaried) employees must use the floating holiday in full day increments. Non-exempt (hourly) employees may use the floating holiday in partial increments with management approval. 
  • The floating holiday is not eligible for payout at termination or carryover to calendar year 2024.

Changes for 2024 and Beyond

As we move into calendar year 2024, please note that 榴莲视频 is returning to our standard Holiday Policy.  New Year鈥檚 Eve will be observed as an MSM holiday and there will not be a floating holiday.  All holidays are listed on MSM Connect/HR.  

As always, essential services like Public Safety, Center of Laboratory Animal Services, and clinical services must coordinate the observance of holidays (i.e., 鈥渁djusted holidays鈥) with managers.  For example, Morehouse Healthcare 鈥 clinical services - may be unable to observe a holiday due to the way it falls during the week.  In this circumstance, the EVP, Health Affairs and Dean, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and appropriate clinical chair(s), will determine the schedules for Morehouse Healthcare鈥檚 offices and work with essential services employees to allow them to observe the holiday on another day.
